My father has edema in his lower legs and feet, as well as arthritis in his feet, which increases his already high sensitivity. He can't stand to have socks that are remotely form-fitting, contain rough fabrics, have anything but the loosest elastic, or have any type of pattern or weave. Although socks may fit when they're first put on, if they have even the smallest weave/pattern or elastic banding it will be imprinted in his skin by the time they're removed. We have tried several types of socks designed for diabetics or those who suffer edema, but even when we could find those that didn't have the above problems, they weren't the right size. (He wears a size 12 - 12 1/2; not a small man.)
These socks have been fantastic! He can wear them for hours with no problem. They are made out of supremely soft material that doesn't irritate his skin, and there is no pattern/weave to cause problems. There is just enough elastic throughout the top of the sock that they stay on, but it is not in a tight band, and it expands as far as necessary without any pressure. They're his size, not too small, and not too big. And, as a bonus, they are well padded on the bottom of the foot to provide support.
They are well worth the money. We've bought 4 pairs for him so far, and I'm sure we'll be buying more.

My husband's feet were very swollen from a medication side effect. The socks made such a difference for him. He loved their comfort. Only problem was that they are pricey, and the heels tore up fairly quickly. Not sure why.
Dad's Says They Are Comfortable July 6, 2010

I ordered these for my dad who is diabetic. He generally buys regular crew sock but cuts through the elastic to make them comfortable enough for him to wear. He's very pleased with these socks and says he can wear them without his feet aching especially since they are seamless. He's asked me to buy him four more pair.
